About one in four orthodontic patients today is an adult. Some never had braces. Some had them, skipped the retainer, and watched their teeth drift. Some just got tired of hiding their smile in photos. All good reasons.
Straighter teeth aren't only about looks, either. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, uneven bites wear enamel down, and jaw strain can add up over the years.
Your options
Invisalign
Clear, removable aligners. The most discreet option and the one most working adults pick. Great for mild to moderate crowding and spacing. Wear them 22 hours a day and take them out to eat.
Clear braces
Tooth-colored brackets that blend in. Nothing to remember, nothing to lose, and they handle bigger corrections than aligners.
Metal braces
The most affordable. Smaller and smoother than the braces you remember from middle school, and honestly, nobody cares as much as you think.
What's different about adult treatment
- It can take a bit longer. Adult bone is denser, so teeth move a little more slowly. Most adult cases run 12 to 24 months; simpler Invisalign cases can be quicker.
- We coordinate with your dentist. If you need any dental work (a crown, a filling, gum care), we'll time it right.
- Your schedule counts. Every office is open until 7:30pm, Monday through Friday. Visits are 20 to 30 minutes.

Am I too old for braces?
No. If your teeth and gums are healthy, they can be moved at any age. We treat plenty of patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s and up.
Will anyone notice?
With Invisalign or clear braces, most people won't. Coworkers usually find out when you tell them.
I had braces as a kid. Do I need to start from scratch?
Usually not. Teeth that drifted after braces often need a shorter, simpler round of treatment, and Invisalign is frequently a good fit.
