What are clear braces?
Clear braces work exactly like metal braces. Brackets on the teeth, a wire connecting them, small adjustments every few weeks. The difference is the material: the brackets are made of a tooth-colored ceramic, so from a few feet away most people won't notice them at all.
You get the same predictable results and the same ability to fix bite problems, just with a much lower profile.
Clear braces vs. Invisalign
Both are discreet. The difference is that clear braces stay on (so there's nothing to forget or lose), while Invisalign aligners come out to eat and brush. If you want "set it and forget it," clear braces win. If you want to take them out for photos or a big presentation, aligners win. Either way, you can barely see them.

Things to know
- Ceramic brackets are a little larger than metal ones and slightly more delicate, so we're a bit more careful with very hard foods.
- The brackets themselves don't stain, but the small elastic ties can pick up color from coffee, curry, or red sauce between visits. We swap them at every adjustment, so it's never permanent.
- Treatment time is about the same as metal braces: most patients are done in 12 to 24 months.

Clear braces cost a little more than metal because of the materials, but they're still available on our interest-free in-house financing with a low down payment.
